As Andi explained in his 2014 inaugural blog, we at Zend are excited about the explosive growth of mobile and web-based applications in the enterprise, and we expect 2014 to be a watershed year for the continuous delivery model of those applications.
To help promote the benefits of Zend Server and the continuous delivery model, today we announce the availability of Zend Server 6.2 as a 30-day free trial on AWS Marketplace. Amazon is making a 30-day trial available to a select set of offering in the AWS Marketplace, and Zend is pleased to be one of the flagship offerings.
With a single click from the AWS Marketplace, Zend Server 6.2 Professional Edition is yours at no charge for 30 days. At the end of the trial term, your image automatically converts to a production image, with no migration or stoppage in service. In this trial, users continue to pay the associated fees for the Amazon AMIs.
Zend Server Professional Edition is packed with automation and provisioning features that make continuous delivery a reality for your PHP applications. We think 30 days of Professional Edition will help developers from all backgrounds and businesses see the benefits of a full featured development environment versus a basic PHP stack.
Use cases for the free trial
Regardless of your production environment, AWS Marketplace makes it easy to test and run your PHP applications. The one-click image on the Marketplace lets you access four different Linux images, giving you plenty of options for building up a production site during the 30 day trial. And if you like it, just roll right into a regular subscription with Amazon at the end of the 30 days.
But even if your current production environment is not compatible our images, you can build a test environment with Zend Server on Amazon, and during the 30-day trial use the environment to demonstrate to your management team that Zend Server functions the same regardless of underlying infrastructure. At the end of the 30 days, you can keep the environment running on Amazon and only pay for what you use–an ideal situation to accommodate the usage peaks and valleys of a test system. Even IBM i developers can enjoy the flexibility of the Amazon environment.
